The last week has been really fun. Yesterday I went to Hyde Park Roller Blading followed by Karen’s number one sport, “shopping” on Brompton Road. Even through I am sad to say I have almost been here three months, this was my first Trip. I did n’t buy anything at Harrods even through they have everything you could image as they sell real fur, which leaves me baffled as to why the bother to sell Free Range eggs. But the Desserts did look amazing. Harvey Nichols was also Fab but still way to much choice.
Last night I went out to dinner at Convent Garden to an outside restaurant beside the Big Christmas Tree with a Girl Friend from the Pharmacy and she bought along Dot also a Lawyer. Nothing better than talking about the things that drive you crazy about this country, over pasta and a glass of Australian wine.
Today Wimbledon Village had a Russian Fair with a portable Ice Ring, (think our portable Damps are better) but eating fairy Floss with gloves, ear muffs knee high boots over the top of my jeans, I managed to pat so many Black and Chocolate Labradors and a number of Cocker Spaniels as well, very happy also rather crisp but still lots of fun.
Am I immature if ever time I get on a train going to Cockfosters I have to giggle: )
The Three days away with work where also lots of fun. Fawsley Hall (http://www.fawsleyhall.com/ )was just amazing. To keep it short the parts I am still laughing over:-
(1) The First night sitting up till 2.30 am with my immediate small Team and then having these two ladies who had gotten married to each other here six months ago sit down and chat with us and then one of my team members spill their glass of red wine over themselves (Had only packed one pair of pants) and then one of the ladies picked up a glass of white wine and poured it all over the stain and everywhere else. (Didn’t say anything, just pored) Guess you had to be there to see it. : )
(2) Thursday night was formal dinner, having one of my Australian Colleges tell me I am getting old and need to think about getting married and that he is available. I told him I would put him down as a back up.
(3) Thursday night 3am Sneaking/walking towards the bathroom with the head of our Agency hoping we would look like we where going to the bathroom, instead of going upstairs to die/go to sleep, no way where we going to do an all nighter, especially as Friday Morning was Go-Carting at Oxford, (I am a sucky driver at the best of times and I was going to need all the help I could get) followed by lunch at this great Restaurant. http://www.fishesoxford.co.uk/
Its Sunday night which is normally party night at my house with lots people, lots of Curry and lots of Bollywood Music. We have the work Christmas Party on Monday night so guess I will be missing out on Big Boss (India Big Brother) in Hindi of course. So I had better go home.
Love
KD
P.S. just for Mum in 1575 Queen Elizabeth I, stayed at Fawsley Hall. Lots of paintings of Mary Queen of Scots as well.

James Bond - World premier
Hi Guys,
Rather enjoying life in Wimbledon, even the discussions on skim milk. There is always full fat milk in our house but it always seems to run out faster and then the guys end up drinking skim milk in there coffee. I have explained that in the hope that our butts won’t get any fatter chicks drink skim milk, but this seems to get lost on my house mates and they end up drinking their coffee with a look of distain on their faces : )
I had a conference last Friday at The Waldorf Hilton with Google, yahoo etc.. but the most interesting thing for me was watching all the English women get up and walk out. I looked down at my feet to see mice running around, I did a second take for a minute, how could I be in this Posh hotel in London and they have a mouse problem?? Compared to the rats at Town Hall station in Sydney, the mice where rather cute.
On the way home from Dance, at which because I am currently in UK beginners they dance with their shoes off, so instead of my standard bruises on my legs and knees, I now also have them all over my feet as well. Looks like I will be living in ballet flats until I make it into Intermediate, which hopefully is n’t too far away.
So anyway on the way home from Dance last night, I walked through Leicester Square and they had the world premier of the New James Bond - Casino Royale. So I stopped to have a look, the highlight was defiantly getting to be about 2 meters away from “M” (Dame Judi Dench) and Sir Richard Branson. (My Dad has always had a thing for James Bond, which is proably why I was so excited to see “M”) Well I guess I can now also cross of my list going to London to Visit the Queen, she was there with Hubby, I was surprised at how grey she is. Obviously there where lots of other celebrity’s and people where yelling at them but I had know idea who they where, from UK TV and News people, soap stars, Foot balers, Comedians. I did recognise Paris Hilton though. Clearly having a Blonde moment as she could n’t find her Car.
We have a team off site in 2 weeks going to stay at Fawsley Hall, at Northamptonshire, so I am looking forward to a few days in the country.
Hope all is well
Take care
KD
P.S. Ralph I had lunch with MR West last week : ) he sends his regards.

My Big Achievement!!
I am really excited,
Not because I'm/I've:-
(1) Pregnant
(2) Married
(3) Actually managed to properly see some UK tourist thing (so far only seen the things I accidentally ended up lost and found)
(5) Finished my tax (goal, 1 year to finish tax in the same year)
(6) Finished my study
Realise that the rest of you are achieving in the above areas: )
But because I managed to get the plug out of the sink : )
It was stuck in the sink for 24 hours and I managed to leverage it out with a knife and I am sooo proud of this. See we can live without men : )
My flat mates are in India for 2 weeks, so I am all by myself.
Anyway have a fab day : )

The Tea Towel
I’m not so sure why I was going crazy in the hotel, but I am defiantly a lot happier in the Apartment. Its in Mayfair, I can still walk to work, I just walk up Bond St, if I get to Jimmy Choo then I know I have walked to far, pretty much across the road is Stella McCartney and around the other corner is Bentley and a few others. Clearly all expensive cars, I can tell by their size, my most impractical hand bags are the smallest and prettiest, but cost way to much, so clearly these are expensive.
So I have moved into my serviced apartment and well it does n’t have a few things, most of these I have picked up at Sainsbury’s, except a tea towel. So while at Sainsbury’s I explained to the cashier that I needed a tea towel, clearly I was speaking French, so I explained that I wanted a cloth that after you had washed dishes, you dried them with this, still blank looks I asked if he new where I could buy one? He told me he didn’t know what I was talking about.
(After my New York trip and having to translate between two American’s, I was feeling frustrated)
Next stop Boots,(Pharmacy) (no shortage of these in London) you can walk 100 meters in every direction and you can hit a Boots and a star bucks, unless your in Mayfair then its about every 20 meters between star bucks. So I explained to the Girls what I was after they told me that while they did n’t sell them I would be able to pick one up across the road at Selfridges and Co. (Now I know your wondering how I had walked by this shop a thousand times and not realised what it was, because it had no label, just looked like a make up shop and I am geographical challenged). So off I go, up five flights of escalators to the Home wares. I ask the lady at the counter and she takes me to the spot on the wall, but they have sold out??? I asked the lady have you really sold out??? She said yes. Any idea when you will have more in? No.
Ok??
So I give up and go home to get ready for my Saturday night out on the town with a girl friend from the Pharmacy. We went to a nice Belgium restaurant, over dinner I explained my challenge of having no tea towel. She explains that in London they simply just run out of things.
So after an email to the girls at work, today at lunch time the Girls took me to House of Fraser and I am now the proud owner of two tea towels. : )
And just incase you are wondering, the Apartment is going well, I am enjoying the food that I am cooking as I am no longer living off take out. I’m livng in Mayfair o and just as well my sister didn’t axe my sleeping bag inner sheet and just as well I went for the satin one. : ) Could n’t really live in a serviced apartment in Mayfair with a cotton one. Apparently this is some weird UK thing where they don’t have a top sheet, just a bottom one with a dooner and dooner cover, but it’s a bit warm for that so am sticking to the inner sheet. : )
Love you Mayfair friend
